Hm, now that I think about it, I don't think the relationship between the illusionist and the void images (the ones he teleports with) is well defined. perhaps instead of the illusionist losing a quarter of his hp when one is destroyed (a semi difficult feat), he should take a double the amount of damage the image takes. meaning currently, losing one image who should have 1/8th of the yout hp, would remove 1/4th of it. The new system would still spawn the images with 1/8th of your hp, but allow them to take up to 1/4th of your hp away. So it's still the same damage, just done differently.

Wouldn't doing that just make using Void Images or Void Knights kind of something you would not ever want to use mid fight since it just make you die quicker?

They already do very little damage when they make contact so it isn't really something that you can rely on for dealing damage.

Well... It's not like the Illusionist is OP or anything, so I don't know why you'd want to nerf him by putting in self-damage on his void images. A lot of characters can actually one shot the void images (xan's m2, saniman can hit the illusion and double dip, heheman's digger, acidlead meatball if all hits connect).

I have an idea to moderate his teleport slightly that involves some self-damage.
Teleporting takes away 25 hp from himself, but he slowly regens that back over time. If you teleport again while still regenerating, it resets the timer, and he can only ever regen back 25 hp at a time. This means you cannot spam teleports as hard, and if you approach with it, you'll be slightly weakened. It would also not cost any charge meter to use it, so you can save that for melee attacks and such.

Hm, that could work. See the reason I have it the way I do is due to more lore than balance. the mirror image was heavily inspired by legend of zelda's four sword, but rather than each image being a self aware being, they'd be weaker, still connected to one, central person.

might just do an internal teleport cooldown. I don't like dropping her health too low, because there are so many heavy hitters that can kill her mad fast (slain, rebel, vein, anna).

max 3 teleports. 30-45 frame reload per, but you can teleport at the same speed. just need to delay a bit between.

Tons of new changes in 1.08. I'll try to compile a changelog here:
Classes:
- added Concussive Shell on M2 for Marine. Moved stimpack to Q.
- added a moving hammer melee attack for Kid. Dual swing, okay damage and knockback.
- added the Troll Laser for Heheman's M2, and moved Hehe Cloud to Space. Troll Laser is a hitscan attack with a long cooldown that forces the opponent to taunt.
- changed the Hehe Digger sprite to a digger looking thing.
- added Shield Reflect for Drool Warrior's Space. Reflects projectiles.
- buffed Acidlead's Noodly Hook. Moves faster, and has a faster reload.
- added Tassadar
   - M1 Void Ray, hitscan laser, charge up the damage by holding it on enemies. can be blocked by allies
   - M2 Psionic Storm. AOE ranged damage, costs 75 energy. Can do self-damage, but not ally damage. Can't cast through obstacles.
   - Q Forcefield. ranged skill. blocks any character from passing through, costs 50 energy. Can't cast through obstacles.
   - has 80 hp, and 60 shields
- added an internal cooldown on Sorceress' teleport. 50 frame cooldown, max 3 teleports.
- added an internal cooldown on Vein's sandwich. 10 seconds
- added all the Killah-Zillah changes from Neurion. Q to medpack an ally 30 hp, M2 to medpack self 30 hp.
- tweaked the samurai's M1 slash so that it isn't as rapid, but does slightly more damage per hit.
- fixed the samurai block so it should work correctly now.
- tweaked Reisen's double jump kick reload time. You can fire faster after a double jump now.
- added some damage falloff to Iji's Plasma Cannon. Does less damage when it's closer to the edges.
- fixed the mojo bug when he dies and his mech is out

System changes:
- added tdm_metrostation. A large team deathmatch map based on Fallout 3. Uses drop down floors. Map background is still incomplete at this moment.
- added status icon display support (+physical offense/defense, haste, regen, etc). so far you can see it with +-regen on Vault Boy's heal aura, and -speed on Drool Warrior's bubble shield.
- added dkoth support.
- added forward spawn support.
- added support for one way walls/floors and drop down floors

and more stuff I'm probably forgetting.
