v2.6.8: The hackfix9/2 update
- Reduce collisions CPU usage
- Fix all known collision bugs
- Added debugging map (gg_debug) for testing collision bugs

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. execute_strings on fire off the shoulder of Overmars. I watched object-beams glitter in the dark near the room_goto_fix. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears...in...rain. Time to die.

lack of betatesting = fixing bugs as everyone else finds them in official updates = tons of updates with one bug fixed at a time

Pretty much. 2.6.4, 2.6.5 and 2.6.6 all had bugs which would easily have been caught with even brief testing. Although 2.6.6 less so as it only happened when using a haxxy reward. But that bug was caused by me not being diligent when changing the format of a variable (I should have done a search for other references to it and corrected them). Obviously, the next release will be beta tested.

you have to be kidding me. did you guys actually repeat not testing the next version and not being diligent for what i can see is 2.6.5 and .6 and .7 and .8?

i guess 2.6.4 as well? I feel really bad for anyone who's been playing gg2 still in 2012 and 2013  if this is the kind of direction the game has taken.

I think I got too used to the notion of beta tests are useless that I skipped them altogether. Plus I wanted to push out 2.6.4 quickly to get it over with and that cost me dearly.
