I'm gonna talk medo or fredman into starting a halloween themed/modding contest with a reward similar to haxxies (and as easily exploitable no doubt)

Could be done.
Unfortunately, I won't have as much time for moderating Haxxys as I did during Holiday. Which doesn't stop us from making such competition, just make it smaller/shorter, with more specific categories.

My plan for a modding contest is simple;

Get 10 to 30 forum goers to vote. I'll explain an anti-alt system if I actually get the contest kicked off. Alternatively, people vote for nine judges (anti tiebreaker)
The contest is simple; non-vanilla mods only. No straight sprite mods, they at least have to have some other visual enhancements (ranging from simple particles to complete graphical overhauls)
The mods need to be halloween themed. No exceptions.

Majority vote for the winner, three prizes; third place gets rotten pumpkins, second gets an average pumpkin, first place get elegant pumpkins. Participants might get shriveled up pumpkins but that's debatable.
