R: Yeah, y'see we aren't the only group out there fighting. There's all sorts of Garrisons scattered all over.
Anyways. She was bored of us all fighting the same way every day, so she mixed some of the sectors up a little bit.
Some got weapons like bows and laser guns. I heard of one that got attacked by this aimbot guy and some gambler.
But the really crazy one was the one that had androids.
I: Like Quote and Curly?
R: Nah, man. They looked like us, acted like us. Sometimes you couldn't tell them from a person the way I heard it.
The Director though, she tried something different with us. She pulled in some new recruits. First one was Rebel, in fact.
I didn't like him at first, to be honest. Felt like he was taking over my turf, if you know what I mean. But he got this crazy
idea in his head, at least, at the time it was crazy. He realized that there was only one Director for both teams. Showed us
that we were pawns in someone's sick game. He encouraged us to rise up and out against her. Told us to wait for her
to recruit more people though.
I: How long did you wait?
R: We couldn't wait too long. We waited until she had about doubled the number of people on each team. Y'see if
we waited too long, we'd have to convince more and more people about the truth behind this thing.
I: Understandable.
R: Yeah, so after we got them all convinced, and hoo boy was convincing the Blues 'fun', we marched up to her office
and forced her to leave this sector alone.
I: Peacefully, I hope?
R: Whatever helps you sleep at night, man.
I: But if the Director has left your group alone, why do you still fight?
R: Because man, it's fun. It's different when that bitch isn't breathing down your neck. Rebel's taken us to some
new places, and introduced us to a whole mess of new people.
Some of them are real weirdos though, specially the new Blue guys.
I: How so?
R: Well they got a lizard girl, a little monkey man, a guy who's constantly drooling and this weird thing they call a
"saniman". We got our own share of freaks though. We got a giraffe on our team.
I:Excuse me?
R:Wait, you questioned the giraffe, but not the monkey or lizard girl?
...
Eh, whatever. But yeah we got a giraffe that can copy people's abilities. He was some science experiment or something.
But yeah, we're all good friends now. I see the lizard girl and the Illusionist, he's one of our guys, going out for drinks with
some of the other team members. They tend to get banned from bars. Or the bars just disappear overnight.
I: Well, this has been most... enlightening, but I'm afraid we're out of time though.

I'll stick with a non-story for now until I decide to implement an actual story into the gameplay. For now, I'll let Meower, Acidlead and myself take care of the flavor texts. I'll probably end up doing them myself.

You guys can come up with interesting backstories if you want.

What, you don't go out with your friends?
Just was wondering because the two are on opposing teams. Then again INS mod is basically a sort of "goodwill" fight so I geuss I can see the two teams getting together and debating weapons, sentient facial hair and the healing properties of drool.

Gameplay feedback:

While the Mage is a really unique and fun class, the controls are really bad... people are use to aiming with the mouse and then selecting with M1. Trying to use 1-4 keys instead of M1 just feels weird and hard to get use to without moving the mouse. I suggest that the Mage always has an ability selected(based on which key(1-4) was pressed last) and clicking on someone applies it to them. Also, I think it's a better idea to have to aim at yourself to use spells on yourself. This is so that when you miss a teammate you don't end up wasting your "action bar" on yourself. Additionally, you can make the keys Q&E or Mousewheel to scroll between different spells.

Also Also, Drool warrior still can't use shield while healing and using bubble(s+M2) while healing also causes you to activate uber(at which point you don't use bubble at all).

I do agree with the Red Mages control scheme being very wierd and hard to use.

My idea would be to have it so that you could "lock on" to people by pressing M1 on them and then you wouldn't change your target until you locked on to someone else. Similarly to dAn's idea you would always have a spell active on would toggle throught them with 1234. You would then cast the spell with space bar or something.

I'll change the control scheme so that it's similar to Richter's subweapon selection (1-4), and space to cast. The reason I'm doing click to target is so you can't target allies through obstacles. I'll add a targeting graphic to show who's currently being targeted.
