That's only very loosely related to Tassadar in SC.

Come on, Tassadar gets mentioned in the first Protoss mission, and you get to play him in what, the 4th?
Whatever.

In SC, he's the main Protoss general at the start and their war-hero at the end.
In SC2, he's their almighty dead (or almost dead) god.

I only played starcraft for like an hour or two.
I played SC2 for like an hour more than that.

Tassador is surprisingly fun to play with and against.
KZ could maybe use a 3 round burst for her sub-machinegun when crouching?  She should be able to heal other people right?  How is that done again?
Illusionist is interesting.  It is difficult for him to kill anyone who is paired up with a healer though.
