Well what it is at the moment isn't wall climbing, it's flipping the gravity. This means that say you walk off the edge of the wall you are climbing (if it's open at the top/bottom) you will just "fall" in the direction you're currently in, until you hit a surface.

What SHOULD happen is you should automatically turn around the wall, so you're now on the bottom/top (or even just fall like normal gravity)

I would take a screenshot, but my screenshots aren't working for some reason.

I'm not sure if I really understand the situation.

I do know that there is a problem with air control while sideways (left or right). You are unable to move upwards while sideways, only towards the ground.

Well the thing is, the power is called "wall climb", not "change gravity", therefore it would make more sense if he stuck to the wall.

It's intended to work that way. The sideways gravity was specifically designed so Saniman could traverse horizontal distances faster, because his regular walk speed is so slow.
