Prefabs
« on: October 12, 2008, 04:28:40 pm »

I was thinking it would be pretty cool if we could get some prefab sprites to put in the maps along with the editor.  Like crates, barrels, cars, etc.  Just a thought.

That would be pretty sweet, to have a uniform art style throughout all the levels.

The level editor will just load the background from a PNG file, so backgrounds are still going to be edited in a graphics program.  If you wanted to, you could get started right now putting together a pack of PNG files for mappers to use.

I've started compiling a few various objects trees, furniture, decorations, vehicles, etc.  I'll probably make a zip file as soon as I get a few more included.

I ripped my objectsd from the ctf_construction;
Credit me if used.

You'll also have to crop them yourself.

Those seem a little too small, I can't even tell what they are.

And in game they're  x6.
They ougtho be right about scale when it comes to players.
Theres a fire extinguisher, barbed wire, sewer grates and a pipe, two kind of walls,
a missile, some sort of console, a gate, a tank, some arrow signs and some fossiles.

Would be good to have the character sprites themselves too, that way you could test the pixel map to see if each class would have adequate space to walk through narrower passages and such.

Looks pretty good, but some of them are small, even in 6x.
