Looking for a good video editing program.
« on: April 10, 2019, 02:21:05 am »

It doesn't need to be complicated; in fact, I'd rather it be beginner-friendly. All I want to do is take some video clips, mesh then all together, set them to some music (with the video sound still faintly audible), and have some text at the beginning/end I guess? Also being free of charge would be nice.
If anyone even thinks of saying Movie Maker I'll stab you.

can take a look at shotcut if you need something a little bit more powerful than movie maker
if you need something more powerful, davinci resolve is probably the best editor you can get for free

kdenlive is finally good enough that it doesn't crash constantly as long as you don't do certain obscure things:

https://kdenlive.org/en/

everything else out there has really fucked up import/export/format logic

just a little random note, make your titles and and text shit in an image editor lol it's way easier

I use VideoPad video editor because it's really intuitive, if you reinstall it the trial version lasts forever

ffmpeg :)

I use Handbrake quite often, or... you guessed it, Windows Movie Maker (what's wrong with it?)

WMM is still a thing? Are you on Vista or something?

I was able to install Windows Essentials 2012 on Windows 10.  That's what I use, clean interface, and I am familiar with it.  I can bust videos out quickly.

It has like 0 real editing features, not sure why you would handicap yourself with it asides from putting out a massive amount of footage with minimal editing
