Chrome being a dumbass rejecting the last two file downloads, marking as 'dangerous'.

[edit] Can not test anyways, currently hosting and have other tasks running. Will do later
Thanks in advance.

Level starts with lights off.
Added light switch. Use with "shoot".

Revamped jumping so it now works with acceleration rather than set speeds. Feels much better imo.
Falling from a ledge without jump still makes you fall at full speed instantly (as intended).

So if anyone's actually interested, apart from my lack of time, I'm ran into a pretty obvious problem of pixel-perfect moving platforms with one-side collision. I think I have a solution, I'll post some update as soon as I get it to work.

EDIT: Vertical platforms seem to work perfectly. Turns out horizontal are gonna be a bigger pain.

Testing moving platforms. Can be switched on/off with a switch at the bottom.

Oh, instead of health there's an FPS counter. You still take 3 hits though.

After some thinking I decided to turn this into my own, original game.
Enter "Thieving Time", a DOS-inspired collectathon platformer set in kinda-reneissance era.
I'll be making html builds from now to make it easier (confirmed working on latest Firefox and Chrome).

Changes so far (other than some sprites):
  • Controls: Arrows, Z to jump, X to shoot, C to flip gravity.
  • New enemy: Duelist. Basic projectile enemy, shoots at you if he can see you.
  • New enemy/puzzle mechanic: Spear Guard. Charges when he notices you. If he can't pursue you any further, he will throw a spear. Spear will become a temporary platform when it hits a wall.
  • New puzzle mechanic: Eyehole painting. Will block your path if you get too close. Turn off the light to pass by it.

The game still uses some "borrowed" sprites, it's all temporary though.

Added new enemy type: BigGuy, cannot be killed, only stunned for about 4 seconds.

After a long hiatus, I'm slowly back to work.

  • Custom crystal sprites, created some bonus items.
  • Finally a small enemy type: Shielder. Can only be hit from behind.

A whole heap of new assets, though it's just the beginning.
I'll certainly need some more 'border' tiles so the background transitions are smoother.
Also, need a lot more decals and platforms/furniture/etc.

  • A few new decals
  • Custom floor/wall tiles
  • Your bolts stick to walls, can be used as platforms. Shoot multiple to create a small bridge. Bolts fade out after 3 seconds.

I'm back.
Migrated to a newer version, lots of behind-the-scenes changes.

And added a menu and rebindable keys.
Custom font, better hud, lots of small fixes.

Feel free to try and post feedback.
