Goodbye PHP 5.6
« on: October 11, 2017, 02:19:56 pm »

The GG2 forums have finally arrived in the modern age, thanks to the SMF 2.0.14 update which finally supports PHP 7. This means I can now at last throw out PHP 5.6, which was the workhorse of the forums so far, and embrace PHP 7.1, which I already used in parallel to run an unrelated Wordpress site. The two sites will still use different php-fpm pools running under different users for security reasons.

Yes, I know it's been almost half a year since 2.0.14 was released. Shuddup.

Anyway, if you notice that something has broken due to the change, please inform me as I know you will and I'll look into it.

Fixed. It was related to the 2.0.14 SMF update. They added a new hidden input field with the session ID to the login header in the default theme, and apparently didn't set up the update package to also apply this to additional themes.
