Vanguard: An overwatch demake
« on: May 21, 2016, 07:28:32 am »

With overwatch being this popular and also fun, some of us have decided to start an overwatch demake.
We have 3 working classes as well as functional networking and engine, and we're currently working on adding more.

Current exe download (Note: This is an alpha version only really meant for developers and people interested in testing sprites, it is not anywhere close to a finished game, although playable.):

Download (64bit).

You can find the current code here: https://github.com/Orpheon/Vanguard

If you wish to contribute, please contact me here or on Discord (Orpheon#5968). It is likely that you can help, many things are still open.

More random screenshots (maps are gg2 maps):

Some early versions of the character sprites, these were made before Overwatch was released so I only had gameplay trailers and a few images to go off of.
If anyone with actual artistic talent wants to improve these please go ahead.

I too find this project interesting

All in seriousness, if you're writing a C++ engine from scratch, why not use Benetnasch?

Because I want to understand my own codebase.

I could help with sprites and HUDs.

People willing to do C++ and with too much time.

Aside from that, HUD design probably wouldn't be terrible either, although it's going to take a while until that gets in.
