Wait, the beta was released five months ago? Uuuuh, ok, time to actually finally release it then I guess. I can't bring myself to skip the traditional April 1st release :)

No big update this time, but a lot of smaller stuff that is probably very welcome. Before you dive into it though, you should note that the auto updater in 2.8.0 is broken. This means you have to download manually from here instead.

With that out of the way, here is what changed since v2.8.0:

New features:
  • Added missing Raybann badges (sorry everyone who had to wait so long for their reward again)
  • Added support for the full Windows-1252 charset in GG2. This basically means you can now use certain accented characters in your player name and in chat. If your Windows installation is set to a region which uses a different charset (i.e. not Western Europe or North America), the added characters might not match the ones on your keyboard though.
  • Added GUI menu option to disable scoreboard fading

Balance / gameplay changes:
  • The medigun now targets the player closest to the mouse if you aim close to him. Otherwise it falls back to targeting the player nearest to the healer.
  • The sniper rifle's range has been reduced, and it now scales with charge. See this thread for details.
  • The sniper rifle now penetrates teammates
  • Medic health regeneration has changed. Before, it was a fixed 3hp per second. Now, it ramps up when you do not take damage. It is 3hp/s for the first 7 seconds after you take damage, 4hp/s for the next 7 seconds, and 5hp/s after that.
  • Airblasting an enemy now adds to his existing momentum
  • Modified ADCP mechanics:
    • 0:30 setup time (reduced from 0:60)
    • 3:00 fixed initial time limit (regardless of configuration)
    • 3:00 bonus time on capture (reduced from 5:00)
    • Timer is now capped at 5:00

Fixed Bugs:
  • Sending an invalid team/class change request can crash the server (#148, #149)
  • Skewed and broken random class assignment in classlimits code (#140)
  • Team autoselect is now decided server-side, and no longer skewed towards the enemy team (#151)
  • BLUs get red arms sometimes (#147)
  • Flares penetrate one enemy more than they should
  • Medic call sometimes does not register with 60fps clients on 30fps servers (#155)
  • Taunting sometimes happens only on the server when using a 60fps client on a 30fps server, causing desync teleporting (#25)
  • If a new background image has been downloaded, leaving the main menu and returning will show the old background (#159)
  • Being killed while entering a new player name or a chat message clears the text field (#158)
  • Updater on the release channel will crash with a division by zero, due to Faucet HTTP redirect behaviour (#157)
  • Loose sheet animations are not adapted to fps settings (#156)
  • Class limits now also apply when a player is moved to the other team by the autobalancer

Other:
  • Players using the "#"-character will no longer be renamed to "Player" or "I <3 Bacon". Instead, the character can now be used and will be normally, both in player names and server names.
  • Server-sent plugin lists can now be longer
  • Autobalancing no longer switches people during humiliation
  • Improvements to ggon implementation and documentation
  • Improvements to RateController documentation

I don't know what it's supposed to do, but I'm pretty sure that's not what's supposed to happen because I was still able to move and shoot while uncloaked

Which Raybann badge was it? iirc I was at 100%+ for 2014 and 100% for 2015 and I don't see any badges, nor are there any options for the badge on me.

I'll look into the sentry bug right now. Haxxy prizes apparently fell under the wheels again. I remember getting some sprites for them, but didn't get around to implementing at the time and then forgot it was still a todo for this release... sorry. I'll fix that asap.

As for the missing badges, those were "DynamicDuo" and "ArmyOfOne", and there were also a few renamed ones (B-BallBlitz, Elton-Jump-athon, Rebel-ution and GloryDays)

@Atlus: I checked the list I was given, and you are listed as Tier 0 winner, getting top hat and golden monocle and greenback particles for all classes, as well as the Gray outfit for soldier. That all seems to be in the database. The medals / badges were awarded for tournament wins, and you are not mentioned on that page.
