TOURNEY CHALLENGE #5: "Bann’s 3.5th and 4th Laws of Robotics

Win the tourney to get a prize.

Isaac Asimov was a renowned scientist that created the laws of robotics. Little do people know that I was the one that provided his funding and thus owned his soul and human rights. While he was still alive and not dead in an autogun-related accident (you are all too young to remember this, Mercantiles), I asked him to add two new laws.
As an addendum to the third law: “As an exception to the law of self-preservation, a robot shall become a killing machine when outfitted with a spur.” As for the forth law: “A robot shall convince a human at spur-point to purchase Bann Mercantile Group’s goods and services.”

- We will be using the Spur Server-sent plugin for this tourney. Installation instructions below.
You will need this hotfix courtesy of ZaSpai (see attachment at the bottom of this post). If you do not have this hotfix, you will get many errors.

Alternatively, you can save it manually. Here is the code.
Quote
    object_event_add(Weapon, ev_create, 0, '
    reloadSprite = -1;
    reloadAnimLength = 1 / global.delta_factor;
    animLength = 1 / global.delta_factor;
    recoilAnimLength = 1 / global.delta_factor;
');

- Signup at the IRC (Find it here.) will end at 2:30 PM EST for the 1st showing. Signup at the IRC will end at 6:00 PM EST for the 2nd showing. Remember, the channel is #RAYBANN. So far, we're looking at Saturday, August 22nd for the date.

- Teams are instantly randomized in IRC once deadline is up (via random.org/lists)

- A single elimination bracket will be quickly generated (if there are not enough people for single elimination, we will use round robin)

- The tournament host will randomize the bracket and teams.

- In the case of an odd number of players, a tourney organizer will sub in as a partner for the odd man out until we can find someone else to play.

- This tourney will try to finish in 1 day, so matches are done in a quick format.

  • 2 v 2
  • Secret class only
  • 5 min matches

Tip: Sometimes, it is better to use many single shots instead of a charged shot.

I think it would be prudent to provide the actual gml file given that saving text as gml requires "hotfix.gml" as the filename in the save prompt. (Yes, with the :quote: s.)

Actually, come to think of it, was the Spur plugin was compatible after the days of DAMAGE_SOURCE_ ...? Let me investigate.

quote_spur has been updated and now no longer requires the hotfix when hosted on a vanilla client.

The times given in the OP are in EST, which is GMT-5, UK is GMT, most of western Europe is GMT+1.

When in doubt, search the time zones (fastest answer), post in the thread, or ask either myself or one of my minions directly. I did not realize people had this problem, and I will make sure to include a link to a time zone table from now on.
