There isn't even a lighting system yet, why on earth would you add lens flares?

There's a known issue with Garrison Builder 2 where the 6th parallax layer overlaps the ui. Although the ui is still technically usable, so it's up to you guys whether you want to add that layer on.

So I checked this out and it's because the grid is also on that layer. I can't move the grid to another layer because I've reached game maker's background limit. I could completely remove the grid though, does anyone ever use that?

I've updated my guide to focus on layer0-5 with layer6 as an extra. Some of the maps meow is working on does require the 6th layer so it's best to just leave this out.

The fact that layer6 goes above the GB UI isn't a big deal because it's usually the smallest layer used and thus won't completely block the UI (even if it does you can move around the map and the UI will become visible again), I don't see any reason to remove it.

Try using sprites instead of BGs

the user interface is really unfriendly and you can't really have a real preview unless you play the map (which takes 30 seconds to open), so when i realised that i would need to figure out and add an offset to all my parallax files to get a decent result i just gave up.

started to get decent result by using this instead

but fuck that

idk what the effect you were looking for but I did what I could.

it's possible to go into the decimals for x/yfactors. Just don't bother between 0-1.

Isn't there an ingame preview button? that should be nearly instant. I even bugged Lorgan to make sure it stayed in GB2.

I'll try drawing the grid as a sprite.

Yes that's still in there.

Idk if there's an easy way to make adding parallax easier without spending hours making another gui, I will also make the background layers update more frequently instead of just after adding a layer

Alright I stopped procrastinating and made a layer gui. You'll get to try it when arctic updates his mod I assume.

You don't need to remember any special names anymore, just go the layer you want to edit with the up/down button or by scrolling and click the image to upload a new one. The clear button removes the layer and the offsets button allows you to drag the layer to change the parallax offsets.

Also fixed the last layer being on top of the gui  / grid not working properly and added opacity for foreground entities.
