It's a plugin that replaces your default or custom crosshair with one that is always the inverse colour of the pixels it's on top of - so it should contrast well on most things except for gray.

did you know that spinning stars work like this???

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. execute_strings on fire off the shoulder of Overmars. I watched object-beams glitter in the dark near the room_goto_fix. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears...in...rain. Time to die.

I'll definitely have to try this out; this reminds me of how the Minecraft crosshair does the same thing. If this works with the default crosshair (and I don't end up playing a lot of maps with gray in them) I'm all set! :z5:

I'm sure you're the exception and your port [of GG2] will be more successful than all the other ports.

It includes a modified default crosshair that works properly with it.

Really cool, it's just that you can sometimes forget what color your crosshair is and think it's just a part of the background...   :panic:

Im sure this will help a lot of people (to be honest, I never really complained about the normal crosshair but I'll try it out)

Most of them are, as I can see.

The "no contrast due to a gray background" problem isn't an issue unless the gray is an exact 50% gray. Otherwise, you will still be able to see the cursor.

Obviously, but there isn't enough contrast. I have thought of a solution:
Only, say, #F8A or something is inverted; the rest can be outlined whatever colour you want, e.g black, or white, or brown, or yel- ahem.

It'd be nice if there was a simple and fast way to sense the BG colour for that reason, but I don't believe there's one.

I think unless you do that some way this is going to be pointless. In Minecraft the crosshair is always in the centre - therefore you always know where it is. There's no need for an outline.
Here that is not the case.

True.
Considering how often you move in GG2, I don't think it'd be a problem. Your cursor only moves if you move it, and if you're moving around in a level, your eyes will notice it.
