the only major gripe i have is the black outline and the sort of pillow shading on the middle rock

Might make it red-violet.

I'll lighten the black. I'll change the pillow shading, but it is going to be a filler until I think of a wall formation.

That's a good question actually, I'll tweak it.

I initially thought no intel sign (wouldn't want to let them know where the obvious :x3: is now would we?), but then I realized that it may look a little empty without it. If you wish to blend it in more, I would make the background of the sign closer to the crates to the left, possibly blending the current background color of the sign with this color.

you should make sure the map has a theme; if it looks to sporadic, you may lose the intended atmosphere of your graphics
