On the other hand, the fact it has Fog of War is nice. I don't like the way it displays it though.

did you know that spinning stars work like this???

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. execute_strings on fire off the shoulder of Overmars. I watched object-beams glitter in the dark near the room_goto_fix. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears...in...rain. Time to die.

Alright.
So here's what makes CS:2D bad and mediocre according to you:
1) Few servers playing 'real' maps
2) Graphics are displeasing
3) Physics are ugh
4) Infinite turrets around spawn

Only one of these can't be fixed by a dev. And even still, instant stop with the movement isn't so bad. Instant start is a little worse, but only a little.

They're not the only things, just the things that strike me immediately without playing it properly.

Well either way, top down is probably more favorable for a realtime CS:GO demake, otherwise the maps will be very flat and boring from a platformer's perspective.

To defend your points, point 4 is actually not very possible in official maps. Turrets need wrenches and those are mostly on custom and construction maps and every player can only place 1 turret by default. Though noone uses default settings nowadays.

BUT as I said, the dev is a gigantic dick and he ain't gonna fix those errors. He accepts no suggestions, and on the forums he is mostly a troll with admin powers toward most people, except for mods and big-name players.

However, there's absolutely no reason not to make another CS in topdown. He can't sue ya for that, now can he. And if you can make it better and actually treat your players as humans, I can't see why you shouldn't make it.

If yes, will want escape the murderer mode.

basically how it would work is that one of the players will have somekind of very powerful kevlar and a axe and he will try to hunt down other players he would also have around 200 to 500 health and a chainsaw or maybe a revolver depending on how many players there are

complete gg2 conversions sucks and no one plays them

it wouldnt be difficult to make still, iirc making gungame was the biggest problem. i was tasked with hitboxes and the c4 game mode, whatever it's called. de_ maps in cs
