Help me, I can't draw.

Good job for first try at pixel art!

Here's some criticism:
-Helmet needs to look more like a helmet, make it bigger, add some shading for roundness, add fringes
-soldier wears a coat rather than a shirt so make the body bulkier because the coat adds a lot to the body, add parting flaps hanging down onto the two legs, and a seam in the middle.  Also add a small collar if your up for it.
-Arms and hands need to be bigger, soldiers got some muscle on him.
-Look at the engie's shotgun for some reference on the shotgun style, also you may want to slant it a little bit

look at your own legs, they arent perfectly straight are they?
right now the legs on your rocketman look stick straight, with no change in width either.  Add some curves and bends to the thigh and shins.  then think where the joints would be and make him pose in a natural looking position

-Added better arms
-Shotgun looks better
-Some shading

My fails:
-Shotgun is still pretty sideways/2D
-Helmet is an Afro
-cripplelegs
