1) It would allow other mods to be in it as well. Perhaps Orpheon.
2) People could submit their plugins to that board, we'd review, discuss and finally approve them, and they could then be moved into the Plugins board proper. In this way, people wouldn't see plugins here that aren't yet available.
3) It would provide at-a-glance list of what needs approving to me and any others.
4) It would provide a proper place to deal with approvals, and would allow other people to participate in approvals.
5) It would make the approval process transparent and provide a proper history.
6) Update requests could be submitted to such a board and then merged into the main plugins thread once approved.

Any objections?

did you know that spinning stars work like this???

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. execute_strings on fire off the shoulder of Overmars. I watched object-beams glitter in the dark near the room_goto_fix. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears...in...rain. Time to die.

So maybe separate the current "Plugins and Addons" subforum in a "Client plugins" and "Server plugins"?
Or do you mean hanging it to this one?

I personally think they would suffice in this section alone. My word isn't law, though; there are two moderators for this section.

Yes, making Server-sent Plugin Approvals a sub-board of Plugins.

Could you clarify? That this board proposal isn't needed, or that partitioning Plugins into Server and Client isn't needed?

You could just make a sticky and people could use it for proposals and collection of plugins

Do we have a subforum for clan approvals? Do we have a subforum for map approvals? The sheer low number of server sent plugins doesn't mandate an entire board, seriously. This is not a content management system. This is a bulletin board system.

Since when did we have map approvals?

Also there are an increasing number of plugins. It would provide a better way than the system at present :/

Couldn't we just set up a dummy board in the same nature as Bug Reports that redirects to a git repository where people can make pull requests for server-sent add-ons?

the point of the dummy board was to send people to the launchpad or whatever that handled bug reports dingus

the fact that they were being posted on the forum afterward was because people were transitioning from posting them on the forum to whatever website it redirects to

okay that is nice and completely relevant to the function of the dummy board but I would just like to remind you that the purpose of said dummy board is to redirect people to a much more efficient website for handling bug reports and the same could be done to redirect people to a more efficient website for handling server sent plugins

If a Dummy Child Board is possible, I don't see the issue with doing that.
