  • HAXTON SAAAAAAAAAAALE!

Moved here since haxxy boards are closed for the time being.
And it's a good tutorial too. How about adding it to the tutorial list?

Just to say... excellent guide- probably the best map-related tutorial hands down. It's complete, easy to read and with the right number of examples. Congratulations !

I suggest using cp_above_v3 as an example of what not to do with pitfalls/killboxes, although I removed some in the comp version (both are also good examples of crampedness).

Run GB configuration again and select the correct GG2 directory.

What's your map name? Is your background a PNG? Is your GG2 in or in a subdirectory of the folder that GB is in?

is the filename koth_extremethirst.png or "koth_extremethirst [PNG].png"? The latter might be causing problems for GG2's file reading functions.

Renamed it, still having the same error. I tried to find a GB file to put in a GG2 player, but I could only find the application and not the files for it.

you need to put the GG2 executable in the same directory as the garrison builder executable.
If that doesn't work, try testing your map with a different version of GB and see if it gives the same error.

Did both. No avail.

Anyways, it says it has no valid maps in rotation, so I think it may be something with the map. Ive placed med cabinets, 2 team spawns, a cap point and cap zombes, KOTH game mode. [No spawn doors because its a joke map like ctf_itsrainingmen]

Valid maps are ones with both entity data and a wallmask. Background is implied. Are you compiling the map properly with all parts loaded before testing?

In order:

Load wallmask
Load BG
Place required entities
Test map
