You should try to get the server host to shut down instead. And you should also add a list of popular servers that people can connect to via ip.
That sounds like a really smart thing for them to do if they never want to have any customers ever again.

Edit: We have a banner on the main page since an hour or so.

You should probably pretty it up a little bit.

I think part of the idea is it being the way it is

When I saw the banner on the front page I thought it was a porn ad.

I believe that most of the forumgoers already know about the issue, but I'm fine with the idea of the forums being down for a day.

You could also bring out a small update with the title screen of gg2 having a banner and link to the site.

i personally don't have a problem with the site being down a day, but from a business standpoint i wouldn't do it. (unless it saves you oodles of cash)

Also the sopa vote has been delayed, so I guess if you want to do a black out you'd have to change the date

Make a GG2 update where the game stays black for a period of time, with white text emerging:
"Don't like censorship? Help us stop SOPA!"
Like, replace the faucet animation with it for few days.-.

Sounds good too, keeping the message on the main menu would be nice too.

We arleary have at main page(Not on forums)
If we add "Don't like censorship? Help us stop SOPA!" to replace FAUcET animation would be enough, they are putting english wikipedia down just to protest agains't it and some other law too.

or you can just do the banner

Not. The banner is good enough imo, and I didn't have time to set up anything more elaborate like a GG2 update.
