The Map Archive: Part Three
« on: November 03, 2011, 08:53:37 pm »

The Map Archive was originally started by Silent Boom, and was continued by the now gone wherewolftry. After months of not being updated, Iíve decided to remake this myself, along with the communities help.

What's this?
This is a comprehensive archive where all working Gang Garrison 2 maps are organized and usable. Forum users may freely download and use the maps here.
Simply post a reply if you find anything wrong here. (e.g. html goof-ups, map in wrong category, wrong map name, unplayable/no level data, outdated version. etc)
Also, help me categorize the maps that are in the "Help Me Categorize Them" section.

How do I find a map?
Simply click on the "spoiler" in the category of the map you wish to find.
Then, use your web browser's search function (Ctrl + F) to find the map. The forum search will not show results from the "spoilers".
Maps here are also alphabetized for your convenience.

_________________________________________________ ______________________________________

To add a new map:
The map must be playable, in either completed or WIP form, and the most recent version.
Use your browser's search function to make sure the map is not already on the list.
Post your map in a reply on this thread with the URL (embedded pic), NAME, NAME OF THE MAPPER and GAME MODE.

To update an existing map:
Use your browser's search function to verify the existence of the map you are updating.
Post your updated map in a reply with the URL (embedded pic), NAME, CATEGORY, and "UPDATE" in big bold font.

Thanks for actually visiting the section. Go give some mappers feedback while youíre here.

Want a folder containing many of the maps here? Courtesy of Derpduck, the linked zip folder contains roughly 1500 maps, ready for use.

Making your custom map rotation

Regardless of how many maps Gang Garrison 2 players have produced, they are useless if you don't know how to host them. So, this is the easy five step guide to add a custom map to be hosted:

Troubleshooting an empty server

Now, you may notice that your server is not getting any players to join. This can be for multiple reasons. The spoiler below will discuss how to deal with such an issue:

Port Forwarding your Gang Garrison 2 Server

If your gang garrison server still isn't working, odds are you will have to port forward your server. A good guide on how to do so can be found here.

How to modify a map

After having seen all of these maps, you may want to modify a map in order to change the way it looks, the game mode it is played on, or change the way the map is played. However, you likely don't have the map's entities file, or its wallmask. This guide will teach you how to extract these from an existing map and convert them to your own. This guide is slightly lengthy, follow the instructions one by one.

The "d" in dkoth stands for double.
