Quick question, if you have like 15 hp left and you get hit by like a full charged (Shepard) sniper shot.  Will the person you link to only take 15 damage or will they suffer the full effect of the sniper shot?  Can't this also be used to troll teammates like ones that use cloaking or use a hitscan weapon?
depends on how hp is calculated.
if the hp is in the negative, (ie after an overkill shot) and then the link damage is calculated, and then the death event is called, then yes they will suffer the full effect.
If the hp is in the negative, then the death event is called, then the link would never be calculated, and the other person would take no damage.

I'm kind of sad the Illusionists will lose his void knight but the life link sonds like a very usefull tool. Also will he be able to Mirror Image Split and keep up the life link?

Void knights are staying, but on the same key as the split.
and you can maintain the lifelink as long as they are on screen and you have line of sight.

In my opinion, if you are player in the same team as an Illusionist who wants to lifelink with you, you should be shown a small  :c8:/ :c9: menu to accept or deny the lifelink.
In that case, if it has bad consequences for you, it's your fault.

Just a few things to note though: That screenshot I posted had nothing to do with an ally to ally lifelink. And honestly an ally to ally lifelink will do more good than harm, so if I made the distance you need to maintain an ally/ally lifelink, would that be alright? That way you can just 'step away' from the illusionist to break the link
