And that's not particularly impressive. The same thing happens lots of times, especially on cp_thundermountain.

It's actually one of the oldest bugs that's still open. Writing good collision code in GM ain't easy :P

Medo, this has always bugged me, and now I guess is a good time to ask: Why is it that with gg2's collision code, if the player doesn't have enough space at the destination when they 'teleport', they stay where they are and don't move? It really bothered me with the Infernal box mod I had forever ago, because the players wouldn't teleport out of the hellspace and would be stuck in the hellspace

logically if there isn't enough space there isn't enough space :P

different platformers handle those exceptions differently, for example, super mario starts sliding you past and you start moving through the map in the direction you were going, while other's just bug out entirely and you fall off the map

Gang Garrison 2's collision code just so happens to detect that you're colliding with something and it stops you, although it wasn't intentional, it works
