Double Sentry?

Well, this once happened when I was playing true_fort
I was defending the intel as an engineer, when this guy called thedude planted a sentry on a wayout. The only problem is that somehow there was two sentries at once, not one. I mean, there was one shooting but another one seemed to be stuck in eachother.

Me, a pyro, a spy, and a deto were attacking it like crazy, until one minute of attack, when it finally explode.
I am wondering; is this a cheat? An exploit? Simple bug or glitch? Has it happened to you before?

Yeah, I am new, but to the forums only.
Also, I didnt post this there as I dont know wether its a bug or an exploit.

answer: due to decync, the server thinks that the sentry is finished building while you don't think so, so it starts firing before the build animation starts, then you get the double sentry effect

It's just a flaw with the sprite of the sentry.

The build animation is of the sentry going from toolbox to turret, the last frame is the base of the turret. There is a separate object that is the head of the turret.

The problem is that the sprite for the base was using the wrong image and thus the double autogun glitch is seen. It is only present in lag.
