not much discussion here, seeing as though there are only 2 good starfox games.

slippy toad sounds like the colloquial name of a dangerous seaborne genital infection.

I played the hell out of Starfox 64 back in the day.

Picked up Starfox Adventures when I found a cheap used copy a little while ago, but haven't tried it out yet.  Is it any good, despite completely switching genres?

starfox adventures is a pretty mediocre game, which in this case, makes it absolutely horrible when stacked up against its incredible predecessors (starfox on snes, and starfox 64). If you try to consider it as a title independent of the earlier titles, it might be somewhat acceptable. I tried doing that, but then wept because I knew this was a gigantic missed opportunity for Rare/Nintendo.

the combat system is horrible (4 hit basic combo is better than any of the complex ones), the puzzles are dumb, the story is dumb, the characters are dumb, the difficulty is non-existant, and krystal is a bitch. the few enjoyable things are the music, and overall look of the game; some of the set pieces are impressive.

Assault was...actually not as bad as I once remembered it. I started playing it recently, and the flying parts were pretty damn good. I just wish that they hadn't put in so many land parts. Corneria for example. It looked like a real war was going on there, but you barely got to enjoy it because you were so low to the ground, then a boss fight and you're out. Why not a landmaster at least, or preferably, being able to fly and see it all.

Well yea, but it wasn't really put focus on, you were still traveling the exact same area as before.
I guess I should said that you should be able to explore much more of the city with the landmaster.

I loved assault. The multiplayer was awesome, but unbalanced and not very fun without 4 players.
