Sjaak's [NL]Flying Dutchman server.

In addition to Krome's server I'll post the details of my server as well.
I won't be showing offline/online status since I don't want to keep on coming to the forum to edit it.

Server Name: [NL]Flying Dutchman
Map: Rotation of the standard maps.
Server Location: The Netherlands

If you have any suggestions, please let me know and I'll see if I can change something on the server.
If it's lagging then I think it's because of the whole Europe/US thing. It's running on an I7_920/4GB server with a 10Mbit line so that shouldn't give any problems.

I hope you all enjoy the server.

Ja ik dacht ik zet mn eigen server maar op want Bacon kom ik niet op door een rare foutmelding en bij andere servers lag ik de pan uit. Hopelijk werkt het niet allebei de kanten op.

I thought I'd just set up my own server since trying to join Bacon is giving me a weird error and while playing on the other servers my lag is making me look like a fool. Hopefully the lag doesn't work both ways.

From what I understand, a server with more than 12-16 players turns into a lag fest.
I'm kinda wondering if this is because of GG2 programming language which causes so much TCP overhead that a person's ping goes to shit or if it's the program itself that just can't seem to handle the calculations that need to be done by having multiple players in one game.
In other words does a full GG2 server really bog down that ping of the server's connection?

The reason I ask this is because I want to be able to provide to the community as best I can. Meaning, if I can circumvent this disadvantage of GG2 by hosting 2 separate games which each have a playercap of 8-10 I'm more than willing to do so.

If the devs could answer this for me I'd appreciate it.

The server was working like a dream yesterday with 12 players.  Apparently it also helps if the host disables gibs and particles.

Yeah I heard that too. However if I turn those off, I can't see the blood spatters that usually reveal spies when you shoot them. If I want to spy check now, I need to watch if my bullets stop in mid-air.

Ok. Apparently, when I play on my own server. Clicking my mouse too many times makes my A/Dmin mod gib an enemy.

Sorry about that folks. I'll try logging in with another client to see if this will fix the problem.

it doesn't lag.  it is a bit stuttered sometimes but i expect that's when your computer is running other stuff.
