Hey there! It seems you've joined our forums, or are at least lurking! Let me give you the heads-up on what's what around here.ANNOUNCEMENTSThis place is where the developers post the upcoming features of the game. Keep a close eye out for any new threads! This is also where the
"Donations" thread is.
GENERAL GG2 DISCUSSIONThis is where most of the talk about gameplay takes place. Servers are discussed here, as well as matches you've played in, and features of the game that you like/dislike. Anything about GG2 goes! Polls on your favorite maps and classes, Favorite Teammates, Most Fun Enemies, you name it! As long as you're polite (As in, don't brag incessantly) you'll be treated with respect and courtesy, except by one or two trolls that inhabit this place.
This is where the introduce yourself thread is! Let people know who you are!
STRATEGY AND TACTICSA truly cool place. Learn tips and tricks from the pros! Check the stickied threads up at the top of the section to see if anyone has made a guide for your class yet! A word of warning: The people in this board are really nice, but one way to get anybody riled up is to make a half-assed guide with broken english, bad punctuation, and poor spelling. Guides should be made carefully, not sloppily. Remember, good guides don't have to be long and big! In fact, being big and long does not make your guide good. A
good guide makes a good guide good. Jeez, that sounded redundant. Try to include any special tips or tricks that you use often to help other players, and check other guides to make sure they're not covered already.
GANG GARRISON CLANSFirst of all,
most new members don't get into clans unless they're well known in-game. There have been many clans that have accepted new members right away who suddenly leave and never come back. A good rule of thumb is to have 50 posts before applying to a clan. That way, the clan leaders know that you're not going to disappear after a few posts, and will have gotten to know you better. Check the stickied threads for rules and clan info!
GG2 DEVELOPER DISCUSSIONThe more in-depth discussions of the game mechanics take place here.
FEATURE REQUESTSUse the search button before making a topic! Search for what you want to add before you ask for it. Many people get angry when they see people asking for the same thing over and over. Oh, and an FYI: That little tiny character? His name is Quote. You can get him by pressing Q on the character select screen.
BUG REPORTSUse the search button, as described above!
MODSThis is where the modding takes place. Sprite-mods are mods where the characters in GG2 are swapped for other things. This is the most common type of mod. However, there are several excellent coders who can make really cool mods! Search back a few pages, and you might find something REALLY REALLY interesting!
WEBSITE & FORUMUse the Search Button before you request anything!
MAPS & GARRISON BUILDERHere you can find the newest and coolest maps being made for Gang Garrison, as well as tutorials on making them. IMPORTANT: Garrison Builder is the program that lets you compile your maps! IMPORTANT: Maps are tough to make. You can't just whip out one a day. They take time and effort. Be patient, and remember there is always room for improvement! Be receptive to criticism, too. Oh, and try to limit the potential for spam!
OTHER PROJECTSSadly, Larry's Mod is dead, and Rite to Life is mostly dead as well.

Still, there are many new projects waiting for your inspection! Make sure that you post in the "ideas" thread before making a thread for your own game, unless you already have work done on it. That way, people will know that you are serious. Posting in the "New Ideas" thread can often garner support for your work, and you might be able to get a few people helping you!
GENERAL CHATTERThis is moderated, non-GG2 related discussion. Keep threads on-track, and don't post memes or things that belong in Random Chatter. It's a place for serious discussions that people actually want answers to.
ARTBy popular demand of the site's many creative talents, the art section was born. Show off your work! People might like it.
RANDOM CHATTERUnmoderated discussion. Anything goes. Trolls come here often. If you do decide to post in here, be warned: some people aren't friendly. And no, no one gets banned for things that happen in Random Chatter, unless they go against the terms of service. That means you can't run to mrfredman when someone calls you a jerk. You posted in Random Chatter, you suffer the consequences. As you can probably tell, I'm casting this section in bad light. It has a reputation for being full of cliques, and "elite" clubs. However, that sort of thing has died down recently, and RC has gone back to being a funnier place for people to hang out and blow off steam. Just remember, don't carry a grudge with you out of Random chatter. Just because something happened there doesn't mean that you have to drag it out over the entire site. In fact, dragging your arguments and vendettas against other members out of random chatter is a great way to get into trouble with the moderators.
As of right now, RC is in "Hibernation" until mrfredman has more space on the site to host it again.
RANDOM CHATTER GEMSWhere the funniest, wittiest, and craziest Random Chatter threads are stored. It just goes to show that fun stuff can happen in there!
***
Other things of note:
The moderators are nice people. Even Trigrar

. In fact, for the most part we're all nice people around here!
When in doubt, Search Bar!
When people say the site was "Nuked" they are referring to a time a while ago when the entire site was wiped clean for two days.
Don't bring random memes and such out of Random Chatter! That's a sure way to look kinda dumb.
You can change your name at any time here! Go into your "Profile" tab and see!
Numb3r$ in your name = disrespect from lots of people. Remember, you can use spaces in your name. For example, I use UNDERWATER BASKETWEAVING, not UNDERWATER_BASKETWEAVING.
Be polite!
Don't brag, you'll get looked down on. No one likes being told that someone else is better. If you're better, show it in-game!
THE KARMA RATIO:
-You can applaud people, sure, but a few members know how to add smites. Smites used to be an option right next to applaud, but they were taken out a month ago. Some people still know how to do it. Therefore, your reputation can still be tarnished! SMITES STILL EXIST!
-Don't applaud people for posting memes or repeating jokes. Applauds should be based on wit, originality, creativity, and contribution to the game or forum.
-Don't hold one person in higher regard just because he has more applauds than another guy.
-
Applaud/Smite ratios are just a tool for bored people. Don't pay attention to it, really! Your applaud/smite ratio does not make you a better or worse person!Anyhow, that's all I have to say about this! Welcome to the forums. If you've actually read all this, I know you're serious about wanting to be a part of the community! Welcome to it!
Just a few more things I want to say.
-Please attempt to use proper grammar at all times, people prefer readable content over silly gibberish such as "u" "thx" "brb" ect. The word "pwn" and variations of such are also not liked.
-Attempt to limit your smiley usage to a minimum. It's okay to use them to portray your mood, but don't use them because they're there.
-Caps lock is looked down on.
-There is no need to sign posts with your name or user-name. We can see your user-name.
-Members will look down upon you for using meme related names, icons, ect. You're judged on appearance too, sometimes.
-Don't hate, appreciate!
Hey Basketry: Maybe you could add something about if they're here looking for a specific bit of information or such and can't find it, they could try the old Gang Garrison Wiki? Although it's mostly dead, there's still semi-useful stuff, such as basic strategies and specific health/speed/jump height/etc for the various classes and some weapons.
