I still don't see the reason not to include a warning 10 seconds before autobalancing. The threat of cheats cannot be THAT high, and even it is, the person which suffers the most is the cheat. And it can really help transitioning.

Still wondering why we can't do random autobalance (so that you don't get stuck with the players that are doing badly, not fixing anything), so long as they aren't near or with the intel or capping.

actually it does... sorta

        balanceplayer=-1;
        for(i=0; i<ds_list_size(global.players); i+=1) {
            player = ds_list_find_value(global.players, i);
            if(player.team == balance && player.kills+(player.caps*2)+player.healpoints < points) {
                points=player.kills+(player.caps*2)+player.healpoints;
                balanceplayer=player;
            }
        }

this basically means that the first instance on the list (which means that the person whose been on the server the most) that also has less points than a certain (9001 or something lol) amount, then it balances it

But that's points, I mean it would pull anyone, so long as they aren't near or completing an objective

Autobalance should pick the player with a score that happens to make the teams' total scores balance out as much as possible when they're switched. Of course, if they're not completing an objective.

That may result in several important/core players being suddenly shifted

So
So... not only are we depressing classes which don't score as many classes, but we're also judging players unfairly.

To have a reliable healer is one thing... but then if he suddenly autobalances and then what's your team supposed to do?

Get a new healer, and enjoy the increased difficulty of facing an enemy team that now has a reliable healer.

I don't see why people think 'Autobalance should knock the AFK/new players over to the other team'. That makes no sense, the other team wouldn't be in a better position at all.

Exactly why you should get a warning about 15 seconds beforehand so you can prepare.

because that's less aggravating to players actually being useful

It doesn't matter how they feel about it, it matters how well it works. Imagine it from the other team's perspective rather than the one who's getting balanced. With the method of balancing the afks/zeros, the other team gets either a useless player, or one who's gonna get kicked for being afk anyways. But with balancing the score instead, they get someone who can do something.

It's not like teams are normally fair, and maps don't take insanely long to finish so a bad team will quickly get scrambled, especially if they're playing badly as it'll  be easier to cap their flag

Is this really a bug? This topic is more like a feature request.
