Autobalance should pick the player with a score that happens to make the teams' total scores balance out as much as possible when they're switched. Of course, if they're not completing an objective.

I don't see why people think 'Autobalance should knock the AFK/new players over to the other team'. That makes no sense, the other team wouldn't be in a better position at all.
