Got bored and did some constructor testing, found that you could almost stack sentries, and edge them just a -bit- closer together.. it isn't a considerable difference, and might not matter at all but..

If you leap off of a ledge, or jump high enough to be out of the air be above the "Cannot build this close to another building" message and drop an autogun, you can build it a bit closer to another autogun - example:



Bad example, I know, but it was just a test. Could find a better spot to do it but meh, it gets the point across

The autoguns cannot shoot through one another but can shoot over, cover the back, etc.

Drawbacks: there are a few pixels around the sentry where your autogun will automatically explode from being too close (prevents TOTAL stacking),  Detonators/Rocketmen can destroy both with ease

Dunno. Wasn't entirely sure if this was worth posting or not, and hope this is the right forum for it.  


edit: You can probably get a rocketman or detonator to launch you in the air and do it that way without needing any elevation (totally flat surfaces and such).

Didn't know people still played on the tourney mod, but ya, stacking isn't as much as a problem since autoguns can't shoot through each other. Don't get me wrong, it's still a pain, but the main issue with turrets is lots of them, not how close you can place it to another one, so it's probably not something that needs to be fixed.
