i've been sitting on this idea for awhile
24/7 server with matchmaking based on player elo
not quite like gg2 stats
winning a game gives elo to the top half of the winning team
and takes elo from the bottom half of the losing team
teams are autoselected to have similar elo, but elo changes will scale to different elo
eg. autobalance will put joining players on the losing team, but if they end up winning their reward will be less because they were given advantage
ragequitting will be punished with elo and tempbans of increasing duration
quick and dirty ranking using old data, i was surprised at how effectively i could rank players based on points per game/hour alone

also because nobody is playing seriously except during pugs, which are another ball of issues because we haven't had a balanced one yet
