Dear Sir/Madam,
Maintenance work is scheduled for the linux vps host system on Wednesday, the 16th of October, between 11:00 PM and 09:00 AM on the following day.
This applies to your virtual server listed under customer number ******, whose host systems software will be updated:
83.169.41.65
No changes to your systems configuration are intended. Your server will be unreachable for a some time within the given time frame. The server is to be rebooted; please make sure the needed services are restarted if this is not done automatically.
We aim at keeping the downtime as short as possible.

Some people actually use their servers for business, it may be important for some people to know of these things so that that can make plans accordingly.
Plus, this way the server company can cover their ass if anyone ever blames them for not telling them sooner.
Which reminds me, we should do an alternative lobby =P

And yes an alternate lobby sounds mighty fine, or hosters can just put their IP on their thread.

Yep, same server. The downtime is normally so short that it doesn't have a big impact.. but there's always IRC to go server hunting when this happens.

Next time ask for a visual diagram pointing to which month and day the server will be down.
