A Walk Down Memory Lane - The Original GG2 Design Doc

Recently, Medo and I were reminiscing about the good 'ol days of GG2 and during our stroll down memory lane we opened up the original GG2 design doc which has aged into a fascinating relic.

It was written collaboratively by the two of us during the first weeks of the Bootleg Demake competition back in August 2008 and it served both as our first real venue of serious communication (aside from the TIGSource boards) as well as a plan for what would eventually become GG2. We thought it would be fun to share our earliest thoughts on the game especially given how far we've come.

Here's the Document
Teal text is me and yellow text is Medo.

I'll do my best to stick around, answer questions, reminisce, and generally get wrapped up in nostalgia.

I find it interesting and rather obvious how the detonator has had issues with implementation from the start (along with the sniper and spy), and the compromise of merging all the classes into one

It's interesting to see what is commonly requested now (admin tools, chat, multiple 'weapons'), and just as commonly shot down, was planned for from the start.

We added that years ago and took it out

Lemme crack open one of my ancient changelogs to confirm this

b43's changelog talks about how it was added around b39, but it never talks about it after that. Hard to find a changelog after that, though. The archive I had saved on my flash drive got deleted so I don't have it on-hand right now, it's hidden away on a flashdrive somewhere in this place. The assumption is that after 2.0 it was removed as an option.
