We're not quite there yet with 2.5, but trust me when I say that there are LOTS of changes pouring in at the moment (and if you don't trust me, you can check them out yourself on the Development board).
Anyway, since we did not release 2.5 for Christmas and we realized that we don't actually have an automated Christmas-theme, NAGN decided to add it, and we're pushing this out as an interim release while we work on getting 2.5 ready for you. There is still no fixed date for that (sorry!), but I'll take some proper time to work on it in the first week of January, so after that and some testing we should be able to release. In the meantime, enjoy!
The new version removes the Haxxy link and adds a new and improved xmas mode that is active from December 24 to January 2. It is a minor update in that it doesn't change the protocol in any way.

A few comments after playing for a few minutes:
Christmas blood is awesome.
Santa hats are nice, but I feel Blu's hats should be blue. It created a bit of momentary team confusion for me to see red hats on blue heads, which caused a few stupid deaths for me. Curly's hat also completely covers her hair, which makes her slightly hard to distinguish from Quote when the action gets intense.
Consider adding a single hat as part of gibs for some slightly humorous consistency.

It should auto-update, the changes should not break mods in any way. If it does not update automatically, I messed up the devmessages.txt -sorry,but I'm not in a position to do anything about it right now (on vacation in Berlin, only on my phone now).
