My thoughts exactly.
I mean, TF2's still a strong game 8 years after its first release, and I know at least one other "active" fangame that's been around for almost 20 years now (and who's only gotten proper physics until recently).
I'm sure GG2 will live up to at least 10 years, and then it'll be able to tell the world how a 2Demake of Stock TF2 managed to stay alive for over a decade... even though TF2 added new content barely 6 months after its release.
