Good things tend to take a while, but if we are stubborn enough, we get there eventually. Finally.
In this spirit, ladies and gentlemen, and in our longstanding tradition of April 1st releases, I present you the Finally Update (http://www.ganggarrison.com/finally) (click for poster), otherwise known as Gang Garrison 2.5.

We have been working tirelessly until we tired, to finally bring you these fine features:

I've only experienced class limits and player tracking so far but I've totally fallen in love with this update. A thousand  :c1: for the coders and those involved to make this update possible.

spies are now invisible walls
heavies can block otherwise usable escape routes for scouts
impossible to get around an engi between shots for a backstab

Collision is massively fucked up.

Yeah, now it only shows up when you click that, to be more user-friendly and avoid blocking class icons.

(fuck, that wasn't in the changelog...)

This update is just what Gang Garrison 2 needed. With the new animations, combined with the fixes and new features, you could even consider this a sequel! Nicely done, indeed.

Yes, but most people had no idea you could kick players (this made it more obvious it was possible), and it also meant you could kick people while in-game.

Yes, but most people had no idea you could kick players (this made it more obvious it was possible), and it also meant you could kick people while in-game.
Oh, sweet. Didn't know you could also do it in-game now. It's gonna save me time when a pub picks up the intel and walks the wrong way.

Btw, server hosters, we have server-sent plugins now. Please use them? There's a FAQ here: http://www.ganggarrison.com/forums/index.php?topic=33509.0 (http://www.ganggarrison.com/forums/index.php?topic=33509.0)

All you need to do is add the plugin name to ServerPluginList in gg2.ini, e.g.:

ServerPluginList=throwable_sandvich,lowgravity
ServerPluginsRequired=1

Anyone found out ways to clip into an opponent and have both fly through the air in a buggy way? This happen to me before.
Spy can be OP if hes in a hallway, and nobody expects him. He's also good for jump stabs. Just random flying wall appears, and boom you dead. D:

No doubt the collision code is glitchy, it's meant for a moving object against a static one. I say don't worry about it.

The new player collision code seems to have issues when colliding with teammates on staircases, like you can't move past each other.

But I am a little annoyed that chat and console didn't seem to get in.

Edit: You won't get truly custom titles though, just Haxxy winner / finalist, same as last year. Unfortunately SMF is quite limited and will go down in flames if we add many more usergroups (which is what custom titles actually are).

That's exactly what I did, but medo and ajf voted to hard code it and update the next day to prevent desync and bugs.

I find demoman extremely UP.
You gave him the same tiny explosion radius as the rocket for a weapon completely different to the rocket.
Rockets you can shoot in people's faces to blow them up, so explosion hardly matters. Stickybombs can't do that, and so demoman is helpless. Always. He's like a soldier that does hardly any damage in the event he can hit anything.
Which is why nobody plays him.

Demo isn't UP, he's completely dependent on lag and human error.
Demo has a much higher fire rate than soldier and can instakill with a ~3 sticky traps. Perfect aerial detonations do 45 damage.
Demo is hard because you have to aim and detonate to get a hit. The first is okay once you get used to the arc. The second is dependent on lag, and how good you are at predicting lag.
So demo is just much harder to play than the other classes due to the way he does damage. There are certainly people who play him for his unique abilities, especially now that his damage radius is much better.

Moving down stairs only seems unnatural for scouts because of the speed that they move at. I wish they would slow the scout down a little  because of the sheer amount of problems their speed brings

yeah true this is beyond useful
but i think the lower blast radius is relatively unfair. anyone who's played as demo a couple times will have the basic gist of how to dodge stickies, or at least get enough out of the way such that the damage is minimal.

on a side note i think the new sandviches are a bit annoying. i mean yeah sure they have a long timer but when i'm a demo and i finally got a heavy down to low health, he just eats a sandvich and he heals faster than i can even damage him.

The point still stands for practically every class including sentry. A heavy and a sentry behind him are more or less an impassable wall by anything that is not a spy or an uber.

you can get 3 stickies in at most as hes finishing his sandwich.
you fight from the distance as the demo, so if he does decide to retreat and eat a sandwich, you have to take time to advance before you can get the stickies at his feet.

the way i see it mines are always 45 damage now, right?

Playing as both demo and scout I find that 45 dmg PBs make the demo annoyingly powerful at close range when he shouldn't be
