Title: Haxxy reward logins have been sent out
Post by: MedO on March 26, 2013, 05:53:03 pm: Hi everyone. I just sent out a PM to everyone who earned a Haxxy reward, either 2012 or 2011, which includes login data for the new reward system we will be using from Gang Garrison 2.5 onward.

At least, I hope I sent a PM to everyone. If you have earned a reward but didn't get a PM (or if you notice ingame that you got the wrong reward), please send me a PM and I'll fix it.

2011 Haxxy Finalist doesn't count, because you didn't get the golden statues (iirc).

I see successful logins from all of you, so whatever else might be going wrong you entered the key and ID correctly.
Your rewards should be: All golden weapons for Bass, golden rifle for Derpduck and golden rocketlauncher and scattergun for Oktoberfest.
You might not get the weapon immediately if you join and quickly spawn before the server had time to check your info - in that case you'll get it on respawn.
How is it SORT OF working, Bass?

bullets: Your login appears to fail, but I checked back and the key I sent to you (and that you sent back) matches that in the database.
Which server are you connecting to? If it is a server on your home network and you are connecting with an extra client, you have to use the server's internet-visible IP to make it work (that doesn't matter if you are playing on the server directly, it should work then). This is due to a bad choice in the protocol that I only realized quite late and didn't want to hold up the release with. I can improve it in an update (your key would just continue working).

Cycled through classes for about 10 seconds
deleted gg2.ini, put [haxxy] section at bottom of file and in the middle under server options

Nothing worked for me, heenok/tankman arrived with his working gold scattergun on my server so it's not my server's problem.

Seeing that other people are having troubles too, I trust that it is just a coding or system error and will wait patiently for an update. Though I would advise checking my code to make sure. Also I would like to request that there be an indicator of some sort to show if the password is correct, aside from the guns, and also say if the password was wrong.

EDIT: That came sooner than expected.

As has been said, Haxxy winners have that. Apart from that, someone could still have leaked their key (though we'd be able to find out who and could disable that key), and servers can always just pretend that everyone has rewards (I don't consider that a problem).

2012 Haxxy winner: All golden weapons
2012 Haxxy runner-up: Golden weapon for one class of choice (per runner-up entry, so some have two)
2011 Haxxy winner: Golden statue

In 2.5.0, there was a silly bug in the game server code for parsing the reward flags. The result was that everyone who should have had the golden scattergun actually got all the rewards at once, everone else got nothing at all.

Edit: Oh, and Tankman only has the golden statue so far because he still didn't tell me which class he wants his 2012 reward for.

Having an authorization server like now is not really necessary, but not a problem either.

We were all told what the awards were.

And gold blades and bubbler was not one of them, gold rockets aren't in either...
