Yes it did end, but it was such a long range no maps (hopefully) had a long enough space for the rockets to reach their max range.

it's not a flame, but I guess it makes more sense that it looks like one

Damage is much higher than a single flame.

i tested it once, it was approximately the width of the upper bridge thing on orange

so i know at least orange could cause it to go to max range, but that's because it's open space above that
