I made good progress so far on my first map and made the RED Base. Here the first draft in 600% the size as it would be in the game. (Note the floor above the spawn zone is where the suitcase will be.)



I got a few suggestions in chat to remove the floor above the spawn zone and fix up the stairs a bit. Do you agree? Any other suggestions I should do in the final draft of the fort? Thanks for any suggestions you leave!

Edit: Don't worry about point out mistakes I already know or are already listed. That would just tell me that I have to work on that the most out of the rest.

Right, I keep forgetting that even the short hallways can be spammed. It's so easy to forget.

Since putting crates would just make things more crowded, I think I better find a way to make two paths to the intel room and make it a small room. Either that or enlarge the base size to make room for miscellaneous, walkable objects.

I don't think you need boxes for such short rooms.
It's a bit hard to judge it without seeing the full map. It's very important whether and how the ceiling is accessible from the right.

Two things you should keep in mind:
- Attackers from below get very close to the spawn
- The bottom staircase is unnecessary tight

Besides that it looks like a solid concept. I'm looking forward to see the finished thing.

I don't have the rest of the map setup just yet, but I do have an upper route in mind for scouts, rocketmen, and demomen. (If it was just a scout route, then a sentry can easily make it useless, I figure.)

Keeping in mind of the spawn, I think I should make the fot a bit wider in order to move the spawn somewhere at the very left.
