The developers have always been in agreement that we should never charge or try to make a profit from Gang Garrison, but as time has gone by and our popularity has grown, the costs of hosting the forum and website have gone up. The most dramatic bill came last week, when, due to traffic generated by the Team Fortress blog, we exceeded our transfer bandwidth and were presented with a massive overcharge fee of about $150. This was a bit more than any of us was interested in paying on our own to keep this site running, so we were hoping that the community could get involved in helping us to pay the bills. No profit will be taken by any of the developers, and all donations will be used to pay for hosting costs and other necessities to keep this game and community up and running. There is now a donate button on the front page, it can be found by scrolling right past the download pages, any donations are appreciated, and we hope that if things go well, the community will become self-sustaining and be able to pay for all the hosting costs in the future. Also, if you are too lazy to navigate to the frontpage, you can donate through the following link: DonateEDIT: We will now be offering further incentives to donate; Custom Titles! Users who donate $10 or less will become 'Intel Carriers' and get one of these sexy money intels instead of stars.  Users who donate $15 or more will get a custom title of their choosing, and 2 money-intel-stars. If you donate an even larger amount you will get an intel for each $10 you donated, maxing out at 5, also you still get a custom title of your choice. These rewards are simply the best we could think of, if you have another idea about how we can reward your donation, just let us know and we will do our best to make it happen Many thanks to all of our Donaters! |

Yea, that'd be a dick move. We can be self-sufficient.
At the moment, I'm paying this entire bill myself, which is taking a big chunk out of my college-student sized bank account. If no one donates, then I guess I will be footing the bill myself, life will move on, and you guys better be damn thankful.
We aren't asking for a lot, anything helps, $5, $10, even $1. I understand lots of you don't have credit cards or any sort of income, so I'm not expecting much, but if you've spent the last 6 months playing our game and hanging around our forum, it might be nice to contribute a little to its future...

Valve is in no way responsible for our bills. They posted a link to the game.. that's huge! It's not their 'fault', it's their blessing.. just along with it comes traffic, which brings higher bills.
It's a free game and forum and it's been growing, which means the people who are paying for it are paying more. That's all. If you enjoy the game and want to keep the community alive then consider it. It would be really appreciated.

Thanks so much for the donations guys! They mean a lot!
Also, updated the first post, we will now be offering custom titles for donaters, the system is still very new and flexible, so if you donate and want to haggle about forum rewards, I'm down. Go read my post first though.
