So I got the game and it came to me one day, what if Deathmatch was "demade" to the Gang Garrison 2 engine? Same concept; online, 2D, 8-bit, platformer style. But it won't just be straightup deathmatch modes. It'll include other popular modes such as
-Capture the flag
-Team deathmatch
-Last man standing
-King of the hill
-MAYBE<---big maybe I was thinking of re-doing the Half-Life or Quake campaigns in this style. It would take alot of work and would be co-op compatible
So, I've opened up the Gang Garrison 2 source code and I'm going to see what I can do. Right now, I'll start with the basics. However, I will need some assistance since first of all: I'm pretty bad at sprites and second of all, this is my first serious Game Maker project. That's why I've decided to start with this engine.
Now, since this is using the Gang Garrison 2 engine, I've decided to call it a mod. But if it needs to be moved into a standalone project section, go right ahead.
As for some other features
-Right now, I'll base it heavily on Deathmatch Classic. Later on, I'll incorporate some more stuff into it. (possibly physics, I wouldn't count on it though)
-Online and modding (of course)
-As many playable characters as possible (including GG2 people, when I first release it, however, it will only contain GG2 plus maybe someone else if I can conjure up something good)
-As metric freak ton of weapons (you'll be able to switch weapons Half-Life style
-Custom models (will work on that later)
-Will use a lobby system much like GG2
-And will hopefully be alot of fun
Here's a sample logo that I made quickly, I know it sucks

Now, I've started a little bit of work on this today as I'm writing this post, right now just changing menus and some graphics and such. But here's some stuff that I'll absolutely need
-Graphics Designer
-Music designer
Some stuff that would be nice but isn't necessary
-Another coder (GML of course)
-Sound designer, but I think we'll be good with the GG2 sounds.
I have already contacted an artist who made an 8-bit rendition of the song "Hymn of a Broken Man" by Times of Grace. I think that song fits well.
Something I wish to ask the developers of GG2: Is it okay if I keep the faucet name and use your sounds and music and graphics?
So yeah, nothing yet for progress but eventually, I'll put up some more pics showing my progress. Anyone who wishes to help/can help, that will be greatly appreciated and credit will be given. And I apologise if this forum post is a little messy, I haven't posted in forums in forever. Also, if you guys have any suggestions/questions, please leave them down below =)
