I've had this lump in my throat that I got checked at a while back. After a little bit of testing and medication, they've concluded that it's a cyst that I was born with that just now started swelling. As of now, it just hurts when I put strain on my neck. But they said it was fortunate I came in, because in a few years it would have gone over my jugular and become impossible to remove, with a possibility of it being even more painful.
My preop is on the 8th and the operation is on the 10th. So I'm going to be out of commission for a while. Wish me luck! Oh, and you can also use this thread to discuss your medical stuff, like operations, scars, or interesting stories of illness.

Other than mental stuff, which I have blabbered on enough about already, I nearly died of the flu when I was two. And then my doctor said I have 14 degrees of scoliosis and says not to do anything about it.
Aaaand that's it.
But my dad was in a car crash in the 70's which put him in a coma for two weeks, and had his jaw put back together. And there is still a chunk of concrete missing out of the pedestrian bridge that his friend's mustang hit.

I once got bit in the face by a dog, splitting my lip all the way through. It was horrifying, especially since it was late at night, and there was a ton of blood. Now I have a facial scar that John Marston would be proud of.
Thats basically my only Hospital Story.
Best of luck to you, but rest assured that the guys cutting you open are only the best. Hopefully.

I got incredibly sick when I was 6 and in Greece. After 3 days my condition was only worsening and my parents decided to go home early. When we arrived home our doctor said "Good you brought him back today already, if you had to bring him tomorrow it would have been in a coffin..." So yeah I almost died.
Also, on the left side of my forehead there has been this small knob for years that just won't go away, apparently it's because of me falling on my forehead when I was little

Well uh when I was 3 I hugged a cactus.
I didn't know at the time that they were sharp.

Hmm, might try working on my archer to be more than just a pot farmer.
What a coincidence, I was working with Archer to make him more than just a pot farmer.

Thankfully it's not a tumor. Good luck, you'll be fine.
As for the other part of the topic, I did go to the dentist recently and they discovered some greyish bumps under my tounge that look like air bubbles. They said they it may be papilloma, and that could be treated fairly easily, but there's a slight chance it could be oral cancer, so I need to see an oral surgeon. They told me it was probably nothing serious and not to worry so, naturally, I'm worrying.

I had to have surgery at 2 years old because I had a disfunctional kidney.
It left a scar and it's just barely visible today.

I cracked my head open a couple times when I was between the age of 2 and 6. If I were to lift my hair up, you could see one of the scars where they had to stitch it up.
