(don't) Bring back sentry build menu?

Someone just make a plugin for this because the next update will be in a year or so even though we have stuff mostly complete for it.

Alright. Is there any logical or other argument AGAINST making an option?

a) Because it's a stupid cop-out
Random Guy: "Hey, lets make it so that sentries have hats"

b) As ajf said it's feature creep, but I want to expand on that. You have more unnecessary code and more clutter in your options menu. Sure it may be just few a lines of code and just one more option on the menu, but that's like saying that one more burger won't make you fat.


We should make it an option only if there's enough demand for the build menu and people come up with good and convincing reasons to use one.

It doesn't necessarily have to be the menu. It could be the thing that Psycho is working on, which by the way should be taken into consideration more often. You know, things Psycho is working on.

Arguing over "feature creep" is stupid because we might as well only have one class with one weapon and only one map if we are to become so worried over the game becoming cluttered.  The options menu has room to spare and this isn't just "one of those things" where it doesn't really matter, I genuinely enjoy having a sentry build menu while others don't;  allowing the end user to choose between the two is the best option.

no because there's good reason for there being multiple classes and multiple weapons

having a build menu arguably doesn't contribute anything to the actual game, and may be one of those things that will be "you either have it or you don't" until people convince others otherwise

Why would players want to have the option to force themselves to take the slightest longer to pop out a sentry.

I'm indifferent of whether we get the build menu back. Only thing I care about is consistency. What happens is that the build menu is muscle memory, so people accidentally place/destroy their sentry when that was not intended. I did this a few times and now I'm okay with the change, just dont keep bouncing back and forth with menus.
