I have no idea if this is a serious comment, but keep it normal people.

poison mushroom
SMB2
Why do you do this to me

Also, Chu was referring to how plantations are large plots of land headed by large mansions and have nothing to do with deadly material; unless, of course, you take into account the slave work that used to be preformed there. Because of their large sizes, plantations do not fit onto conventional barges. It is completely normal to be confused with the comment NAGN made. It's also normal to be a tad angry, because there was and always will be one SMB2 worth mentioning and it is not the one NAGN is referring to.

I don't think that's fair to say.

SMB2J was truer to the prequel's design than SMB2USA. Granted, I wouldn't say it was better.

SMB2USA was just Nintendo trying to kill another company (and it fucking worked).

If you want to play SMB2J in America you must find SMB: Lost Levels.

Shop system incoming: spend your gold on stuff

The buying process isn't instant. When you place an order, it will take ~30 seconds for a crate on a parachute to descend from the sky with whatever you bought. This way, it's encouraged to buy stuff in bulk and plan ahead rather than purchasing stuff on the fly

also, possible cosmetics system with score multipliers

I think that's a pretty neat idea.

Sounds like it will feel like actually buying things and not just magically turning currency into stuff.

Maybe there could be arrow vikings that try and shoot down your crates? Adds a bit of a spin on just having streams of enemies swimming towards your raft.

yeah, i'll come up with a bunch more enemy types to keep the game interesting

also the enemy waves won't be completely random so i can control game pacing and create some interesting scenarios

New version of this thing

http://filesmelt.com/dl/BananaBoat.exe

-Shop menu!
-New enemy!
-Negative gold!

Use arrow keys to navigate the shop, then x to add to the order, c to take away the last ordered item, and space to summon a crate (which is instant for now)

Yah, when I saw that I cracked up. Anyway some random name ideas I came up with:

Banana Buckaneer
B. Nana the Monkey
Nordic Monkey Fruit
The Fruit Raft
Banana Warriors

Also Techno Vicking should totally be the boss.

Finally some ideas for more items.
- Automatic Cannon, works just like a cannon but it always shoots when it can. Probably should need to be repaired/reset after a while.
- Pistol Upgrades, such as faster fire, spread shots ect.
- Rienforced blocks (both normal and background). More expensive but harder for vikings to tear down.
- Magic Banana seeds, plant in wood (yes wood, these seeds are magical) to grow a tree 2 blocks high. I will spawn bananas that you can pick up to add to your total.
- The Axe, Axe Vikings will occasionanly drop a damaged one which can be repaired at the store. This will however take twice as long as when the next crate comes down there is also a baloon. You tie the broken axe to the baloon and it floats away. Next box will come with the fixed and now usable axe.

I'm putting in more interactable objects, so here's my idea for the autofire system:

-purchase "mod" from the store: these will be little addons you can apply to your base defenses
-mods include autofire, autoaim, increased rate of fire, etc
-go next to object and press x to permanently install it on the object

(your towers can still be destroyed so you have to watch out for that)

I love the shop ideas.
Especially the axe one.
