It's a game. About Catman. And Catwoman.

Remaking the whole thing, starting from the start so I actually end up with a game and not just an engine/proof of concept.

Here's some images for you to look at in the meantime:

Alpha (Don't bother playing these, they are way different to the real thing):

Beta (No point in playing this either, i'll remove them when I finish the new build):

Credits:
  • A good friend of mine who goes by the name of Nintendork15 or Soundfonter on the internet (He's in my college class, i've been helping him with his gamemaker project)
  • Derp for his ability to compile icons
  • Orpheon for being... Orpheon?

I'll sort that stuff out when I get further into it. Don't want to waste time when there's nothing to use them for anyway do we?

I am the anti-hero that gotham deserves, well... Catman and Catwoman are the anti-hero couple this city deserves.

How so? Bear in mind that I haven't spent too much time on this...

I'm having trouble putting my finger on just what I dislike about the engine.

I think it feels like it takes a little too long to accelerate and stop.

It just doesn't feel very fun to move around in right now.

Maybe instead of having to accelerate manually you can add a run button.

Hmm, I guess a run mode wouldn't be too bad. Perhaps i'll slow down normal speed and see what I can do for a faster running speed.

Great. Now Change arrow keys to AWSD.
Yes i know its the 2nd time im requesting that and it would waste time
But really, its just switching arrow keys for AWSD.It should only speed you down for some minutes,if not less.

Hmm, for some reason the tiles don't display properly on big monitors, they tend to have gaps inbetween them of only one pixel wide (Tested it at college as my netbook screen is small...). The game is essentially 19x20 and hopefully there's a way to sort it out without having to change all the sprites...

There's a really convoluted way to fix it. The other option is to have all of your graphics be 1:1 scale, that looks like it fixes it as well.

I had that problem with my Radeon graphics, too.

A way to fix it, for example:

View in room
W: 320
H: 240

Port on screen (x2)
W: 641
H: 481

EDIT wait I actually am not sure if this helps with your problem fv:
