We're always going to have horizontal whitespace, which isn't much of a problem assuming that all our users are using modern internet browsers that know how to deal with it

it's good ocd
squares are nice
having everybody have different avatar sizes is really nasty
and is only maginified if the avatars are bigger, because then you have sensible people with sensible avatars and gey puppyfgts like intel with avatars that stretch the page all over like a new born's anus.

Lanczos resize keeps things just a little bit sharper (technically it's slightly too sharp AFAIK, but I prefer slight aliasing to blurry edges). Also, the forum does not resize the avatars, that's actually your browser, so quality depends on that.

Oh, right, increased avatar size? Doesn't seem like a bad idea, but I'd prefer not to go overboard. How does 100x100 sound (see second image)?

I suppose that's alright, though I liked the idea of 150x200 much better, and so far the only people who have a problem with non-square avatars have been wareya and footpop.

100x100 look alright though

I'm not yet convinced, so for now I'll advocate the status quo. I don't see a need for bigger avatars, they seem all right small.

Sounds good to me. Let's go with that and then we can check back a bit later

I'm not really digging it
Also a lot of the avatars of other people are still incredibly small compared to the others, so if you guys really wanna keep this size I suggest you have those miniature avatars automatically resize to the maximum permitted size

Why don't you install the Stylish plugin and make your own style adjustments then? Tongue

I don't really want to resize small avatars automatically because some of them are meant to be the size they are, and it would cause blurring.

Just sayin' that they look bad compared to the bigger ones, if people like having them like that, suit yourself, I don't quite care how my 85+ pictures are seen like

Also oh god Medoloid could have used some more polishing on my part now that I see it again

Feel free to send me an improved version if you want Smiley

Edit: Also, the new avatar size is in effect since an hour now, give people some time to adjust theirs.
