Hm well I don't know about this... having annoying members on the forums is one thing, but it might be another thing to have members outright spoiler every single one of their posts is another
Like for example, I don't very much like whatever madness9000 ever has to say. But if he's participating in an actual argument or a topic, what would happen if I could never see any of his posts?

You can click a post to unspoiler it. Right now, it's possible to have the same function with your brain - if I decide that I never want to see John Doe's posts again, I'll just skip past his posts when I see his avatar. This makes it a little more convenient.
There is an argument to be made that it makes it too convenient - that people should be forced to read opposing viewpoints, instead of living in this sheltered world. Still, I think the benefits are greater than the costs. "X disagrees with me," as a reason to ignore someone's posts, probably pales in comparison to "X's posts are, in my consideration, spam/irrelevant/insulting and not worth reading." For example: I don't mind, but people say "nigga" quite frequently on this forum. Obviously this isn't just one person saying "nigga" all the time, but there might be one person who is upsetting in some similar manner all the time. I think usefulness of being able to ignore such a person, who is not permaban-worthy but is irritating enough that individual users would want to ignore him, outweighs the cost of possibly losing opposing viewpoints.

The fallacy I see here is the notion that you need a forum mod in order to be able to ignore someone.

^ And the fact that you can all too easily miss change.

Ignore mod more like I can't just scroll over the person-I-hate's posts because it's too mainstream

I was just thinking of something like this.
Maybe if people started using this we'd see less people responding to stupid posts.

Well, it'd just be a little more convenient, is all. I agree that there are compelling reasons to force users to read posts from other users they dislike - even if only once in a while, as their eyes accidentally catch a glimpse of someone's post and they think, "Hey, actually, this isn't so bad. Maybe I shouldn't ignore this person after all." Still, like I said, I think the reasons to make ignoring people easier are even more compelling.
In any case... that's my opinion. Now it's probably in the hands of whoever is in charge of this kind of thing, so I'll leave it at that.

I don't care either way. I just think you'd be wasting your time by installing it.

It takes literally 2 seconds. The package manager does it.

I think someone with administrator privileges has to add the mod to the forums, if they think it's a good mod.
..but I'm not sure who those people are, so I'll just wait and hope they see this thread.

I don't support adding this, it is not that difficult to scroll past posters you are not interested in reading. Plus, this only supports the formation of filter bubbles, where people become less and less aware of their actual communities' contents and arguments in favor of self censorship so they can live in their own personal post bubble. Basically, we don't need people walling themselves off, we have too many detached forumers already.
