Every game mode is about game flow, and any game mode has some sort of influencing factor to control game flow, there's no reason for arena to deny that just for deathmatch

Uh the whole point of arena is that there is no objective, it's pure deathmatch. The only influence on the flow of the game is the players, the CP is just to stop matches from dragging on forever because of some spy hiding forever.

The game mode that's about centralizing conflicts is koth, we don't need two of the same thing.

The control point isn't magically sprouting legs and walking away from you, so I don't see what the problem is nagnngn.

Yeah, I was under the impression arena was about killing people, not holding your position on point or using it as a tool to bail you out because you're not succeeding at the original objective of killing the other team.

Lke trog said, we already have koth for the centralzing thing. Arena feels like a bad koth right now anf hat's part od why it's a dead game mode

This makes me wonder. Perhaps we could include plugin code in the map files, allowing map-specific game modes to be created? Don't source-game maps do something similar?

With the current map system (auto-download and run) this would be very unsafe. Would you want maps to execute arbitrary code on your computer? Until we have a secure mod and script system this is not feasible.

Well it'd probably incline the players on the point to get the hell off the point. It works both ways in that respect; The team that's not capping is defenseless, but the one that is is getting baited off the point and into a vulnerable position.
