slow class, smallish cone, lag=ded unless against fair opponent
medic lag= teamates ded a lot, u ded 2

Scout has a large cone so aim doesn't come tooooo much into play, only in close up combat, and has fast enough speed that any frame skipping time loss can most of the time be negated.
Rocketman is three fiddy percent prediction, being lag free is nice but if you are used to aiming and predicting under lag, it's a fine class to play

decent to good snipers, especially when I'm either medic or scout, it's a joyous feeling seeing most of my health go away and having no feasible way to retaliate, especially as medic.

It's even better when after fighting someone and coming out barely scathed and continuing your advance a charged rifleman picks you off in one hit.

heavy= spray in general direction (small cone? the fuck?), shit still works. press w to dodge. doesn't make a differnece if there is lag, it will only improve your aim some (and dodging rockets).
medic= impact is stronger, since dodging becomes harder. since you are standing a little bit in the back it isn't as bad as sitting right in the enemys face. as a matter of fact, to heal people you only have to aim in their general direction to connect, then you are perfectly fine as long as you hold m1. quickly juggling people is quite hard, especially if they are in a clusterfuck. but hey, you are playing in massive lag, what do you expect?

scout= gets killed pretty fast since 100 hp and stuff. that's why you have to dodge shit actively. from my experience, this is a lot easier if you don't have 2+ seconds delay or your screen freezes for short moments, since well, you can't react properly and thus can't dodge as well. so you basically have to predict 3 or 4 seconds ahead and already move like that, since inputlag sucks ass.
also I sure hope you don't say that you are supposed to hang back the entire match and do mid range shots, as that does do pretty shit damage (you said it yourself, large cone. large cone=not everything hits=shit damage). so why don't you play engineer then and be like 4 times as useful, you fuck? scout fights most of the time in close range, so you can't fucking say "oh well close range kind of matters, but who cares, lololol".
And your remark about frameskipping is so buttretarded, that I don't even know if you have ever experienced real lag before. Since scout is faster, the frame skips are a lot bigger and your screen starts to bounce like a retarded child in a rubbercell.

And yes, I played this game quite a lot in massive amounts of lag, because there was a time when I had an internet connection that can't really be called broad band, I live in europe and europe didn't like having servers in europe at that time (bacon town only town) and my brother liked to take up the small bit of internet speed I had by watching massive amounts of streams. now I have somewhat acceptable internet speed and the game still lags like piss. and that's on good servers.

tl;dr either you never played in lag before or you just suck massive amounts of ass. infact you suck massive amounts of ass anyways, since i am better than you while playing with a massive handicap.

Also fuck all you guys that say that playing scout on your own server doesn't make a difference. the precision is so different, that it feels like playing a different game.

damn, iaa.

i do agree playing on your server is pretty much a diff. game, it's sort of like offline vs. online in fighting games in which you have to deal with lag tactics and a lack of hit confirm in online games but offline feels like a different beast entirely.

as for the whole thing about lag resistant classes, imo you're both right. i do feel runner is less "lag-resistant" than a heavy, because a lot of "skilled" runner play depends on your ability to dance multiple opponents, which becomes a shitload harder in lag. heavy is a bit easier to cope with, and so is medic, whom i played on rby's server and managed to have a easier time with than say, a runner.

footpop is right about the rocketman however, it is a lot about prediction and he can weather lag very well.
