Oh yeah, these.
Boy, good luck with that. Had to tear my hair out to get them in Gems Collection.

Aw come on Blue, why aren't you happy this thread reached 40 pages? Moreover, why didn't we have a general sonic thread before?

*hits a bumper* So, Sonic 4: Episode 2 finally has some screenshots released to the public! Well, it looks way better than Episode 1. Now, if they really don't have the DIMPSish physics anymore but instead physics that works more like in Generations, I'd be positively suprized and actually buy this game. But for now... *sits down* *plays Sonic 2*

Holy hell, finally.

Holy hell, finally. The whole art of Sonic 4: Ep I looked awful. I mean, nothing was fitting together. It's like they took the clouds from a photograph, the background from Yoshi's Story, the level art from 3D Blast, the Badniks look like papermache and Sonic...I dunno, like Wind Waker on a malfuncioning Gamecube? EDIT: No copyright law in the universe is going to stop them: Baldy McNosehair is getting a role in a Disney Movie!

While it's entertaining that they decided to make the sprite of the main guy on the logo very similar to the good ol' Hogan's Alley's ones, I really can't see videogame characters being fun to watch on movie format, no matter the case.

Well, I couldn't imagine a interesting movie starring fish, cars, toys and rats, so I think this may have a chance. Also, my inner 12y/o video game addicted child wants to see this movie happen, and if I have to make it myself.

Yeah, I mean all the Sonic and Mario cartoons are, in fact, based on video games, right?

And they're all horrible but Sonic's cartoons which, if I'm not mistaken, originated by the comic books which had much different settings than the actual game. What I'm afraid the most is that a lot of the appeal of the cartoon would be using the cameos just to shove in your face that what you're seeing is a movie with videogame characters. Not references, but just showing eggman doing something eggmany and going UH OH SEE GUYS THERE'S EGGMAN HERE AREN'T YOU ENTERTAINED.
WFRR was different in that they genuinely tried to make it as funny as possible. Cameos not only are sporadic relatively to the movie's length, but they don't subtract anything from the humor or the plot. When you see Daffy Duck and Donald Duck talking trash about each other and being mischievous you know that is a side scene you shouldn't be concentrating on, but rather it accompanies what is being done by the protagonists and sort of creates the feeling of being in a toonland. As I foresee this thing being developed, they'll just throw a few antics that steal the show for a short while and you'd only get their jokes if you actively played or even just cared about the games being parodied or made fun of.

I have no idea which of both came first, however I liked the idea of setting the show into a "Bad guy had won, now kick his ass!"-scenario. Unlike Wily E. Coyote vs. Roadrunn-er, I mean AoStH. Anyway,... More S4EpII screenshots!(Flickr Mirror) Well, if the trail of blue that Sonic leaves behind is any indication, I'd say that SEGA at least fixed the jumping physics. EDIT: A little bit of trivia for you guys: S4 EpII starts off with a Aquatic Ruin Zone-esque level, which, on the other hand, was originally named "Neo Green Hill Zone" during Sonic 2's development (A name, which was later reused in Sonic Advance, Dimps' first Sonic game, and one of the few that didn't suck) and is the first level of a Sonic 2 Prototype.
